General Privacy Policy
- We process personal data (information relating to individuals) that we receive from you or involved third parties, or that we collect ourselves. We also process personal data obtained through our employees as well as visitors to our website. The entity responsible for the processing of personal data described in this privacy policy is Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung für medizinische Forschung, Aeschengraben 29, 4051 Basel (BS), Switzerland.
- Some personal data is provided to us directly by you or the data subjects when you or they contact us via email or telephone and inquire about our services. This includes, for example, names and contact details, as well as information about the role of the data subject within the company or organization for which you or the respective contact persons work, or on whose behalf you or they contact us. We also process personal data that we receive in our correspondence with third parties (e.g., name, contact details, date of birth, information about employment relationships, income situation, family circumstances, or health status). In addition, we collect certain personal data ourselves, for example from public registers or websites. Certain personal data is also provided to us as part of an employment relationship or through visits to our website.
- We process all these types of personal data primarily in order to provide and document our services. We also process personal data of our employees insofar as this is necessary in the context of the employment relationship.
- We also process contact data for marketing purposes (using all forms of communication such as email, social media, postal mail, or telephone) in order to provide information about publications, events, news, services, or products that may be of interest.
- For the purposes described in this privacy policy, it may be necessary for us to disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients: external service providers.
- We process personal data within our area of responsibility in Switzerland. However, we may transfer personal data to recipients who process such data in other countries, including those that do not provide a level of data protection comparable to Swiss law. In the latter case, we will do so based on consent or standard contractual clauses, or where necessary for the performance of a contract or the enforcement of legal claims.
- We retain personal data only for as long as there is a legal obligation to retain and document it, or as long as we have an overriding private or public interest in doing so. We take appropriate and reasonable measures to protect personal data from loss, unauthorized modification, or unauthorized access by third parties. If you provide us with personal data via a third party (e.g., your employees or other contacts), it is your responsibility to inform them in general terms about the processing by our foundation or other external service providers (e.g., in an employee privacy policy).
- Please note that we rely on external IT service providers. We also use certain IT services and communication tools that may involve data security risks (e.g., email, video conferencing). It is your responsibility to inform us if you require specific security measures.
- We have a legitimate interest in processing personal data for the purposes described above. Some processing is also necessary in order to fulfill our contractual obligations to you or our legal obligations (e.g., record retention requirements).
- Data subjects have, in particular, the right to obtain information about the personal data stored about them and the purpose of the data processing, the right to rectification, and the right to deletion or restriction of the processing of their personal data, the right to object to processing, the right to seek a remedy from a competent supervisory authority, and the right to data portability. Please note, however, that these rights are subject to conditions and exceptions. To the extent permitted or required by law, we may refuse requests to exercise these rights. For example, we may or must retain or otherwise continue to process personal data despite a request for deletion or restriction for legal reasons.
- No consent to this privacy policy is required. This privacy policy merely provides information about the nature, scope, and purpose of the use of personal data by the Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung für medizinische Forschung. We reserve the right to amend the content of this privacy policy at any time and without prior notice. It is therefore recommended to regularly consult the privacy policy of the Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung für medizinische Forschung on our website.
- If you have any questions, or if you, your employees, or other contact persons wish to exercise their data protection rights, please contact us at office@gs-stiftung.ch or write to Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung für medizinische Forschung, Aeschengraben 29, 4051 Basel (BS), Switzerland.
