Our support

The Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung for Medical Research provides financial support in three funding areas.

Geistlich-Stucki-Stiftung, Basel

1. Geistlich-Stucki Support for Young Academics

The aim of the program is to support the professional development of young academics, particularly clinician scientists. In particular, the salary costs of applicants are financed through their relevant institute (protected time for research).

The foundation awards the following grants each year:

  • Tissue regeneration, particularly using biological materials, in dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery: Circa three projects will be supported per annum.
  • Cancer research: Approximately three applications are supported each year.

The application deadline for the 2026 grants expired on January 7, 2026. Applications for the 2027 grants will be accepted from mid-November 2026.

2. Supporting researchers and their projects in collaboration with other renowned foundations and organizations

In collaboration with other organizations, such as the Osteology Foundation, our foundation promotes young researchers and their careers. Applications for these programs are submitted directly to the partner organizations.

3. Scholarship program

This program is currently in the planning stage: The foundation supports young researchers with a clinical focus who are gaining experience at a university abroad for one year or who are temporarily visiting a Swiss university from abroad. The program is not expected to be operational before 2027.
